Boot Camp Workshops Highlights
Every semester, Potter College's student-run advertising and public relations agency, Imagewest, develops a pro-bono brand awareness campaign for a non-profit.
Fall 2020 Boot Camp workshop | Mash-up
MashUp’s goal is to help bridge the gaps between healthcare professionals and LGBTQ men of color. The campaign works to encourage health care professionals to seek training that aids in alleviating the health disparities of LGBTQ men of color by addressing racism as a public health crisis.
Imagewest interns wanted to create something that spread awareness to the campaign’s audiences, healthcare workers and LGBTQ men of color. The re-branding, website, and social media teams designed eye-catching and informational graphics and designs, while the public relations and deliverables teams designed informative documents and a newsroom full of relevant and helpful articles and press releases.
At the end of the project, Imagewest interns presented their work to MashUp Nashville Founder and CEO Brian Marshall, who tearfully thanked them for their hard work and creativity.
“Seeing everything that Imagewest did for us in just one week gives me hope for our future,” said Marshall, “MashUp Nashville is ready to expand our base to cities outside of Nashville and use the tools that Imagewest gave us to help more people.”
Spring 2020 Boot Camp Workshop | Nolin River Wildlife
For the Spring 2020 bootcamp, Imagewest work with Nolin River Wildlife, a non-profit that rescues and rehabilitates local wildlife. Imagewest revamped their brand in hopes to increase the community’s understanding and compassion for wildlife including a new logo, website, social media accounts, and new merchandise. View Site.
Director of the organization, Mary Key, said “I’m really excited about the new improvements we’ve made to the organization and I know the community will too. I think we will be more engaged with community members now that we have made our online presence much stronger.”
Fall 2019 Coot Camp Workshop - International Center of Kentucky
Because the work we do is in high demand, it can be difficult to select which non-profits we can to work with. Our aim is to provide the greatest impact possible, so we try to choose non-profits who will benefit the most from the work that we do. Boot Camp is something we take great pride in, because we know that helping others is integral to career success, to positively impact our communities, and to the Hilltopper spirit.
The Fall 2019 Boot Camp Workshop worked with the International Center of Kentucky to rebrand the center and make their important message clear.
This campaign went on to win an Innovation in Marketing Award from the Professional Marketing Association.

St. Louis Branding Workshop 2019

St. Louis Suit Project. During the course of the workshop student complete a multi-media campaign. Two campaigns consisting of over 12 project were created by 4 student teams.

Fall 2018 Boot Camp Workshop - L&N Depot
The Fall 2018 Imagewest student staff spent the week before the start of the semester working with the Historic Railpark and Train Museum to revamp the outdated promotional material. The staff took on tasks dividing the promotion of events to create a creative campaign for the Railpark at no cost. This project was the first real business experience for many at Imagewest and a first step in finding a job after graduation.
Working with the Historic Railpark and Train Museum gave the Imagewest staff a taste of real business experience that will aid in their job search post-graduation. In one week, the staff created flyers, letters and other materials without the aid of professors. All content created by Imagewest is made by students.

International Internship Program in Ireland 2018
I developed an Ireland International internship to give student a professional experience abroad. The goal of this course was to provide professional development with an opportunity to explore career interests while applying knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in a work setting. The student-interns worked with a team to complete a campaign for a client in the tourism industry. The planned outcomes included and exceeded: booklet, rack card, social media kit (Video clips, photos, status content), press release, poster, long-format video.
Malahide is renowned for its beauty and location. The town sparkles with its individual shops, boutiques, hotels, famous pubs and a diverse selection of restaurants. However, boutiques and small businesses struggle to compete with the large scale marketing efforts of the “High Street” shopping plaza. The Malahide Chamber of Commerce formed a boutiques’ collective and worked with Imagewest International Interns to develop a campaign to increase awareness and draw foot traffic to the downtown area boutiques and small shops. The Chamber and the members of the collective worked hand-in-hand with Imagewest’s interns to bring their campaign to life on deadline.
The Malahide Has it Festival campaign went on to win a How International Design Award. The city branding and the Christmas Promo Bag won Gold Markie Awards from the Professional Marketing Association.

Spring 2018 Boot Camp Work Shop - Bransford Memorial
Imagewest launched a fundraising campaign for the construction of the Bransford Family Memorial. The memorial will honor some of the original Mammoth Cave slave guides, freemen guides and their family members. This campaign was part of Imagewest’s Boot Camp project, a week where interns work together to complete a project for a non-profit client. This client in particular, was completely pro bono and the interns were able to complete the entire campaign in less than a week. Imagewest wanted to share the story of the Bransford legacy. Jerry Bransford, a descendant of the original Mammoth Cave guides and a current cave guide is trying to create a memorial to honor his ancestors who were laid to rest in the family cemetery, in which many of the graves remain unmarked and the history of the site remains untold. The memorial was designed by Cave Guide Dr. John Yakel.
This campaign went on to win a Gold Markie from the Professional Marketing Association.
